Absolutely AMAZING service. I was a bit sketchy at first because I've always used AppleCare for my repairs. My logic board ended up crashing on my MacBook and I decided to take it to Hi-Tech because I couldn't afford the repair. Not only did they charge me MUCH LESS, but they also repaired in the matter of 1 day! I was so pleased with the service and also the customer service as well. The technician behind the desk is super nice. I would totally recommend their services to anyone! Love these guys!

Great Service and Reasonable Prices. I spilled liquid on my Macbook Air and feared it was gone for good. Apple said they would replace it for $800, and don't perform repairs (despite my having Apple Care). Hi-Tech Electronics not only provide free diagnosis, but they repair any salvagable components rather than simply replacing everything. Liquid spill clean-up and repair is a very time consuming job, and I couldn't find anybody else in NYC who would do it for a reasonable price. Hi-Tech fixed my computer for half the price Apple charged despite needing to purchase a new keyboard/upper chassis, and performing some repairs on the motherboard. The job took a week, and they offered quality service. You can tell that they have a lot of experience and expertise by how many electronics are within the no-nonsense store. I would recommend their services to anyone.

You can believe the hype! I took my Macbook Pro (failed GPU, garbled display) to these guys on a Friday afternoon and got a call on Saturday afternoon that my laptop was ready to be picked up! This was well worth the 2 trips from Long Island to Manhattan to drop of and pickup and best of all the price was well within the price list on their site. They even cleaned up the excess material that was the cause of the over heating that caused the GPU failure. So yes, I now believe the hype.

I am at a loss for words. When all local shops told me it was not worth repairing, i stumbled upon Hi Tech from Google searches. I figured I had nothing to lose. They were fast, honest, affordable and did a great job. I have no fear in recommending or sending my repairs this way.

I contacted Hi-Tech after reading a review online about how they would quickly and efficiently diagnose and repair a Macbook Pro faster and cheaper then Apple. My mid-2008 machine had refused to boot anymore (Intel graphics chip failed) and I sent them an email. Their good packaging, excellent prices and fantastic turnaround time made for an incredible repair experience. Only one week later, I am writing this now from my completely rejuvenated Macbook Pro and couldn't be happier. Definitely trust them with your repairs, I did, and it was the right thing to do. Highly recommended. Thanks Hi-Tech!

OK, well... I took my MACBOOK UNIBODY to these guys to fix. Gotta tell you, I take my apple products very seriously. A buddy of mine spilled a whole beer on it. (Silence) These guys took it, fixed it in 36 hours and it was as if it never happened. THEY ARE AWESOME AND REASONABLE! Hope I never have to use them again, but if I do.... I will expect nothing less. 5 stars guys. You are awesome. Ruiz RCPT # 5694. : )

I shipped in my Macbook Pro for service due to display chip failure. They replaced the chip and gave me a discount since it was repaired 6 months earlier. Turn around was acceptable, friendly staff, will be doing more business soon and referring customers to these guys.

The screen on my Maytag oven suddenly died. The repairman came by and said it would be $250 to order the new screen and circuit board assembly. Instead, I took the circuit board to Hi-Tech, and I'm writing this after reinstalling the board in the oven -- all now works perfectly. They did the job for a very reasonable rate, and with a smile. Plus, it turns out that the circuit board in question is pretty old and the part that needed replacing on it (the power supply) wasn't available anymore. Never fear, these guys actually took the transformer apart, found the thermal fuse inside that had blown, and fixed it! I don't think going this deep to fix a problem is common in these disposable product days, especially when you consider that they're not charging much for the service! I'll definitely be coming back here the next time I need anything done.

I brought in a Canon xTi with a broken LCD display. They fixed it in an hour for a reasonable price, considering LCD screen repairs could cost more than the camera is worth. They were very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend this store to anyone needing electronics or repairs.

I have used them a couple of times when i lived around the corner from there store in NYC. They are very polite and friendly and they know what they are doing. I love the fact that they don't try to rip you off for their services. I needed a dvd screw for my laptop and he fixed it in ten minutes plus he didn't charge me for it. If you need a repair they are the ones to come to for fast, dependable service.

I am a news reporter and i have a professional camera. it became faulty , I visited many a service centers as well as manufacturer service center, I find that service and required spare parts costs were high. One day my friend who has an experience of repairing his video camera and laptop from Hi Tech Electronics. I went to that service center and showed my camera. I wondered that they fixed my camera at very reasonable price in the given time. I would like to mention further that Hi Tech Electronics has professional technicians who provide up to the mark services, their dealing with customer is admirable and offer affordable prices.

This is a wonderful electronic store with great people working there. I had damaged an internal part of my television set and it needed to be repaired. I went to several stores in hopes of finding a good deal when I finally arrived here; I realized that all the other stores had tried to rip me off. I greatly appreciated their honesty and workmanship; they got the job done well and I was able to pick it up the next day.

This is an amazing place. I was very disappointed when my camera broke last year. I asked around almost everywhere to try and fix it but all the places I checked were asking for too much money. When I brought my camera to Hi Tech they told me that they would open it for free and check exactly what the poblem is and then tell me the estimated cost to fix it. When I came back for the estimate they told me that it was a small problem and that they had already fixed it! I was so happy, and when I asked how much I owed them they said that I didn't owe them anything! They fixed my camera for free because it was a small problem, while other stores were asking for a lot.. These guys are great and super nice! Its been a year since they fixed my camera and it still works great! Love this place, I told my fiends about it and they are also very happy with the service =)

I read the reviews on here and decided to give them a shot. I had a minor but important repair that I needed made to my video camera. (I got a filter stuck on the lens. Don't ask...) They got the filter off in two seconds and didn't charge me a thing. Just like someone else said on here. Great people and definitely a place I'd come back to for more significant things. Thanks guys!

Hi-tech oasis on Canal Street. No doubt Chinatown stinks in 99 degree summer heat but after my PC laptop blew up, blue screen after blue screen, I took a trip down to Hi tech from the UWS. Everyone in the shop is very patient and professional. Gary was my technician and fixed my virus ridden computer in ONE DAY! I was trying to be reasonable and asked if he could save any files labeled "2011". When opening my computer (after a OS reinstall) I saw all my files (for all accumulated years), bookmarks and important data backed up and sitting in the folders where I left them. They are awesome. They will save your hi-tech life.

well after my trusty Sony camera started acting up, I was looking at places to repair it.. I didn't want to buy a new one because i love my camera.. everywhere else the estimate they gave me without opening it was around $50- $70... when I went to this place.. they told me they would open it and give me a free estimate.. when I came back for my estimate they said that it was a minor problem and that they fixed it... when I asked how much they told me not to worry about it. they said it was small so they didn't even charge me! I wold have paid a lot some where else to get it fixed.. my camera is still working great... I love this place!

I've been using Hitech since the days of Betamax so their knowlege and workmanship has always been top notch. Their prices are better than fair and they'll never take you for a ride if it's not worth it. Intergrity and professionism is what you build a business and clientele. You can go anywhere but I'll go to Hitech. Mario Vasquez

AMAZING! I brought in a Macbook that I had accidentally ripped off a surface mount component and they were able to fix in it 5 minutes, 5 MINUTES! And all for next to nothing. Just to be clear this was just not a re-soldering job, they had to create new solder pads for the component. The quality of their work and their integrity is hard to find these days. They were super fast, super cheap, and did it all with smile (seriously the guy had the biggest smile.) It is great to find a place in NYC that helps you repair your electronics in stead of being stuck on the endless consumption cycle of buy and throw away. Please, please, please, if you love your stuff and you want it fixed go to HI-Tech, you wont regret it.

Fixed my camera - a canon SD900ti - in a day. They knew exactly what was wrong when they looked at it, without even taking it apart, and gave me a reasonable quote of $50 and all of it was repaired by the next day. Good customer service. They were also helpful with other electronic issues I asked about while I was there. I damaged the camera by taking photos in the mist of niagara falls - not a good idea. I thought the water damage was permanent. I was so worried about the camera because it was a wedding gift - though it was now three years old I didn't really want to replace it with a new one but thought I would have to because often knowadays it is cheaper to replace electronics than get them mended. Well, I get to keep my camera which works well and I know have the card of the shop to put in my address book so that I won't automatically replace things when they break in future but will go to them first.

The customer service was friendly, professional, and honest. The price to fix my Cannon Powershot SD450 LCD screen was WAY reasonable. $65. And to boot, it was ready in just a few hours. I walked to the park, then to the East River, and then popped my head in and they said it would be ready earlier than I expected. Yay! I will certainly come again when an electronic needs fixing. Five Stars for Hi-Tech Electronics Inc!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend it. Now, I'll have my camera ready for my trip this weekend. Thanks, One very satisfied customer

I use the internet for about 95% of my purchases and I've never felt inclined to write a review until now. On a Thursday night the screen on my 2 year and 2 month old (2 months past the warranty period) Magnavox 42inch LCD TV (42MF437B/37) went black. The only thing that worked was the light on the power button (not sure if sound worked as I use my receiver for sound and don't have the speaker connected to the TV). I found Hi Tech using an internet search for "TV Repair" They had really good reviews and I liked the fact that they offered a free estimate. I called them on Friday and they were at my apartment in Brooklyn at 7:00pm when I got home from work. They quoted me an initial estimate of $350 based on what I told them about the problem, but on Saturday when they called they said that the master inverter board had burned out and the price was only $300. This price included a rebuilt inverter board, power supply, chips and capacitors, all labor costs and the in-home delivery service. They were back at my apartment in less than 24 hours on Saturday at 6:00pm with my repaired TV. In terms of price just do the math: I did an internet search for inverter boards and they go for around $150 (used - not sure what they cost new). I don't have a car which means I'd have to rent a Zip Car for about $60 round trip. That's $210 right there just for the part and transportation. That leaves $90 for the expertise to identify the problem, fix the problem, and the convenience of in home service with a 24 hour (actually make that 23 hour) turnaround time. That is more than fair and I guarantee you would not get this level of service at such a low price from anywhere else. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and I swear they are not paying me to write this review :) I only wish I knew about this place a year ago when my Harmon Kardon receiver broke. I can tell you the experience I had with that repair didn't come close to this one. Highly recommend!

LCD TV repair is as much an art as a science these days. They came out to my home for service, and within an hour, had come up with a clever fix for the problem my set had. I'm an electrical engineer by trade, and I can definitely tell you that these guys know what they're doing. We were able to discuss the problem and they understood the theory of operation of the set, not just some cookbook formula from a service bulletin. They were very friendly and professional and the price was very reasonable as well. I highly recommend them to anyone with repair needs.

This is the first time I'm writing a review and am doing so expressly because I thought the service and the people were excellent. I took in a camcorder that had suddenly stopped working. There was no fee for them to look at it (some places charge $25) and if they could fix it, it'd be same day, if not, next day. They realized it was a software issue and would have to be sent to the manufacturer. At that point, the cost of doing so was as much as a new camera (other places charged a much higher fee to do this). I asked if I could think about it because the camera wasn't mine. "Of course!" Since one of the issues was that I couldn't close the cassette door, I was concerned that the exposed mechanisms were vulnerable to damage. "Don't worry," he said. And carefully wrapped the camera in plastic and rubber bands. I tried leaving him a tip, because he was so nice about everything. But he adamantly refused. A stellar review is the best I can do.

I had a LG TV that is 50 inches, out of warranty and unluckily the TV did not work remaining as a black screen even though I press power. I first made numerous calls to LG service center and they recommeded me all the authorized repair centers that were around the city (everyone of them are out of manhattan located in queens/ brooklyn/ bronx) So I asked my friend to borrow a car and we went to the authorized repair shop at first. They charged me exactly $850, $400 for labor and $450 for the parts and told me it might cost me more depending on the time it takes. They told me it'll take them a week and a half, which I could not bare waiting for it. But then I went to Hi-Tech, I told the owner my situation that I am a student and I couldn't afford high amounts for repair. He gave me an estimate of $500 but how kind and generous of him, he reducted the price to $350 because I am a student and he knew I was suffering from financial difficulties. Repairing was done in no time, It took them about two days and the work was done in very good quality quality. I was highly satisfied and felt really comfortable with the manager and the owner. If you have any problems or malfunctions with any of your electronics, I can strongly recommend you Hi-Tech, becauase it assures afforadable price, great service and good quality.

I have one of those Black Glossy HP Laptops (DV6000) which have a mojor manufacturing problem with some chip. Shortly after the warranty expired, my screen just turned black and the laptop wouldn't boot. HP gave me a ridiculous estimate to fix it so i started looking for some computer shops. After 3 shops told me the motherboard had to be replaced, therefore it's a costly repair I was about to give up on it, then I found Hi-Tech Service Center - who does Motherboard repairs on component level !!!! Within 4 days I had my baby back and haven't had any problems ever since, about 6 months already !! Highly recommend Hi-Tech for everyone !!! I have an Alienware Area51 - m9700 Laptop which died on me 7 months after the warranty ran out - After getting a huge repairquote from Alienware and calling a couple "computer-doctors" I almost gave up on it and wanted to sell it on ebay as-is. Then I decided to give it my final shot and did some internet research where I found Hi-Tech. When they told me they could repair a motherboard I was stunned - for that was the first time I ever heard something like that, and I am somewhat a techie myself. Anyway - Long story short - 1 Week and my gaming laptop was up and running - amazing-. The guy told me that the problem was in a processor power controller circuit and they managed to replace the chip, some transistors and so on - more to that --- they said that the original part was discontinued so they had to use a different part and recalculate values of the circuit - THIS IS AN ENGINEERING JOB !!!!! Trust me, nobody will do all that for half the price of a new motherboard - I got so excited that I could not resist to write a review for those guys. Thank you Hi-tech ----- You are the best :) !! I know what you're thinking- Camera Repair.... Chinatown... Trust me. (I know you have no reason to) I do professional work but when it comes to my backup prosumer camera, any problem it might have will cost at least half the price of the camera (Sometimes more) Add in shipping and wasted time trying to go through Canon or Sony and it doesn't make sense. This place is perfect- I have had two repairs done through them, same day service both times (Which enabled me to do a job with the camera that night and pay for the repair) and the prices are the only reasonable ones I've found anywhere near Manhattan. This is actually the only review I've ever taken the time to write because I think this place does such a great job. The owner is a really good guy, and I can't recommend it enough. Check it out.
